Ground your product in a real fleet. Reach the operators who'll buy it.
Everyone selling into freight decarbonisation claims operator insight. Almost nobody has an operator in the room.

If you're building or selling into the freight transition, vehicles, charging, energy, software, finance, or services, the gap between the product and the depot floor is where deals die. TwentyForty is an operator-led RTO with live charging infrastructure at operational depots and a growing operator network. We partner with industry to close that gap.
An Industry Partnership isn't a supplier arrangement and it isn't an endorsement. We take no equity in technology companies and enter no exclusive promotion agreements; validation stays independent. The partnership is the standing relationship. The commercial work sits on top of it, when there's commercial work to do.
What the partnership opens up
Operator grounding.
Direct access to how working fleets think about your category: the constraints, the procurement reality, the questions your sales deck doesn't answer. Knowledge exchange across the commercial, financial, infrastructure, energy, and technology dimensions of the transition.
A route to real-world validation.
Where the fit is right, structured trials in live operations: defined scope, success criteria, instrumentation, operator-readable outputs. Welch Group brings three depots, live charging infrastructure, real customer freight, and prior Connected Places Catapult programme experience. When we say something works, it’s worked in actual operations. Trials are scoped and priced separately from the partnership.
Operator network engagement.
Where appropriate and always subject to operator consent, we connect partners to the network for feedback, pilots, or commercial conversations. We don't promise warm intros. We connect real findings to operators who've told us they're looking.
Content and visibility.
A useful finding, positive or negative, gets editorial treatment on The Loading Bay: long-form write-ups, interviews, podcast slots, reaching the independent operators most of the sector fails to engage. Publishing, not marketing.
A voice into policy.
Industry partners contribute evidence and expertise to the 12 Pillars of Change: workshops alongside operators, financiers, and policy makers, informing the positions taken on behalf of the operator community.
Three steps, separately agreed
Discovery call.
We work out where the genuine overlap is between what you're building and what operators need.
The partnership.
A light-touch MOU: non-binding, 12-month rolling, no exclusivity, no preferred-supplier status, no endorsement implied either way.
The work.
Trials, sponsorship, and advisory engagements are scoped and agreed separately as they arise. Sponsorship supports the mission, not a media buy. Commercial terms on request; pre-revenue startups, scale-ups, and established providers engage differently.
What we won't pretend
We won't write a glowing case study if the technology doesn't work. We won't pre-promise commercial outcomes, and a partnership with us is not an endorsement your sales team can borrow. We'll tell you honestly whether a trial is set up to land or to learn, and what it'd take to get from one to the other.
The work speaks first
Findings published either way. That's what makes a positive one worth something.
