Tested in working fleets. Not on a slide.

TwentyForty runs real-world trials, builds the consortia that fund them, and publishes what we find. All of it, including the bits that didn't work. Every project on this page involves real trucks, real routes and real commercial constraints.

  • Operator-led

Born inside a working haulage business, not a lab.

  • Not for profit

A company limited by guarantee. No shareholders, no dividends.

  • Results published

Every project gets a public debrief, failures included.

The technology mostly works. That was never the hard bit. The question is whether the business case holds once the grant comes off. That only gets answered inside working fleets.

How a project runs

  1. Start with the operation

We scope the trial around a real duty cycle and a real commercial problem, not around the product.

  2. Agree the measures before the kit arrives

Everyone signs up to what success looks like, and what failure looks like, up front.

  3. Run it in live service

No controlled environments. If it only works on a quiet Sunday, we'll find out.

  4. Debrief in public

Results are written up, signed off by the innovator, and published. Foreground IP stays with whoever created it. We share the lessons, not anyone's proprietary data.

Got a project that needs a working fleet? Or a fleet that needs a project?

Tell us what you're trying to prove. We'll tell you straight whether we're the right people to help.
