Work with us

Your operational reality, in the room where the decisions get made.

Policy, funding, and technology for freight are being designed by people who've never run a depot. Operator partners are how we change that.

TwentyForty was built from inside a working fleet operation. The tools on this site, the Readiness Assessment, The Loading Bay, the 12 Pillars reports, are free and open to every operator. No paywall, no membership, no upsell. That's the point of an RTO: one operator's learning becomes the whole industry's advantage.

Becoming an Operator Partner is different. It's not a subscription and it costs nothing. It's how your operational experience and data get into the evidence base that shapes policy, innovation programmes, and research, so the decisions being made about this industry are grounded in fleets that actually exist.

What partnership puts in the room

A collective voice into policy.

The 12 Pillars of Change works through twelve operator-identified barriers to freight decarbonisation, workshop by workshop, with OEMs, financiers, insurers, energy companies, and policy makers in the room. Operator partners put their reality into those rooms and the sector reports that follow. Grounded in evidence, not lobbying.

Data that works for you, governed properly.

Operational data shared under our Data Sharing Agreement, with aggregation thresholds and driver de-identification built in, feeds the evidence base for infrastructure planning, funding design, and research. You keep control of what leaves your operation. Insight flows back: benchmarks, findings, and what the rest of the network is seeing.

Early sight of what's coming.

Trials, emerging technology, and innovation programmes route through the operator network first. See what's being tested, what worked, and what didn't, before the sales pitch reaches you.

Peer learning.

Roundtables, workshops, and honest conversation with operators facing the same decisions. The transition problems worth solving are the ones getting argued about on depot floors, not at conferences.

Free first, formalised lightly

The open layer

Start with what's free: run the Readiness Assessment, read The Loading Bay, use the 12 Pillars reports for your own board papers and consultation responses. No commitment, no capture.

The MOU

Partnership is formalised with a light-touch MOU: non-binding, 12-month rolling, no exclusivity. Participation in anything, a trial, a workshop, a data collaboration, is voluntary, and data sharing only ever happens under a separate agreement you've signed. You run your operation; we coordinate, we don't dictate.

Who pays

Operators don't pay us. TwentyForty is a Company Limited by Guarantee with no shareholders; the work is funded by trial hosting, advisory engagements with policy and funding bodies, grants, and sponsorship, and every surplus is reinvested in the mission. That's what keeps the operator voice independent of the people it's speaking to.

What we won't pretend

This is the early days of an RTO. The operator network is small but growing. The evidence base is real but not yet deep enough to substitute for your own diligence. We say what we know, flag what we don't, share negative results as readily as positive ones, and write down the bits everyone else leaves vague.

Put your operation in the room

No fee, no exclusivity, and a 12-month rolling MOU you can walk away from.
